Louis-Robert Beaulieu-Guay PhD, MSc, BA
JSGS FacultyAssistant Professor, Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy, University of Saskatchewan
About
Dr. Louis-Robert Beaulieu-Guay is an Assistant Professor in Canadian governance at the Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy, University of Saskatchewan campus.
Throughout his career, Dr. Beaulieu-Guay has held various roles, including postdoctoral fellow at the Réseau francophone international en conseil scientifique at Université Laval, researcher at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research on Montréal at McGill University, Analyst at the Office de Consultation Publique de Montréal, and consultant for the Canada School of Public Service. His specialization in public administration and public policy have equipped him with an expertise in Canadian regulations, text mining tools, and advanced quantitative analysis.
Dr. Beaulieu-Guay's research focuses on the impact of information and stakeholder interests on the work of public administrators and policy formulation. Specifically, he examines how government stakeholders influence decision-making and how administrators collect, process, and integrate different types of information. His research challenges the commonly held belief that public consultations are, at best, useless or, at worst, another venue for corporate lobbying.
Dr. Beaulieu-Guay holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Montreal and an MSc in Economics from McGill University.
